My wife and I created the “Pokrov” Christian Charitable Foundation in 2011.
In the future, every moment of our lives, we were learning how to fulfill the commandment to help our neighbor, personally doing God-pleasing things, participating in the organization of annual religious holidays, helping the church and people financially, organizing charity dinners, targeted medical care and financing mass events for the residents of the city of Kharkiv and the Kharkiv region. The largest of which was the holding of city and regional cheerleading competitions in cooperation with Andrii Bolyak, the inspirer and organizer of the sports event.
As the result of the cooperation Europe’s largest flash mob was held with the participation of 2,743 students from Kharkiv and Kharkiv region on Europe’s largest Freedom Square in the city of Kharkiv. This was preceded by six-monthly competitions between classes of each school, city and region, in which high school students united in joint training and competitions.
While handing out the incentive awards, I saw the light of happiness in the eyes of the students participating in the event. They were united by a common goal, training and friendship, pride for their team, city, region, Ukraine.
The record was registered in the Book of Records of Ukraine, in the presence of the commission and the organizing committee.

The next step in the activities of the “Pokrov” CCF was the preparation for the celebration of St. Nicholas Day. Pupils of a hearing-impaired children’s boarding school wrote letters asking for dream gifts to St. Nicholas and handed them over to the volunteers of the “Pokrov” Children’s Hospital. Dreams came true and the children received gifts that seemed impossible to them. In this exciting moment, they believed that it is possible to achieve what you set out to do, if you just want to and share your dream with your loved ones.

God puts opportunities in the hands of the giver. Saves the soul of the recipient. And with this faith, the children entered adulthood.
On the path of charity, we faced difficulties and it was sometimes not easy. However, the mercy of God is infinite and we managed. The temple was renovated with the efforts and money of the “Pokrov” CCF – it burned down on Easter 2012. We started building a new Temple complex in a new place and with new hopes…
Today there is a war in our country.
From the first days of the war, the “Pokrov” Christian Charitable Foundation united like-minded people, and already on March 1, 2022 (the fifth day of the war), we brought the first trucks with products and distributed them to the residents of our district directly from the trucks. We collected food, medicines, warm clothes, hygiene products, baby food and many other things necessary for people all over the country.
Many thanks to everyone who helped the fund with personal participation, opportunities and money. During the first months of the war, the volunteers of the foundation brought, packaged, put in packages and handed over an incredible number of humanitarian aid kits to the disabled, the elderly, and families with many children, and ordinary citizens. However, the funds ran out. Machines require repair, daily refueling. Our warehouses were destroyed twice during the bombing. No one died, but we had to find new premises for storing and packaging humanitarian aid. Thus, a children’s food and clothing distribution point was opened, which handed out up to 5,000 sets every month for children under 7 years old. In addition, we did it, relying on our experience and our desire, on the support of friends and conscious citizens of Ukraine.
The first year of the war has passed.
We decided to turn to people all over the world for help. Thus, at the meeting of the founders of the “POKROV” Christian Charitable Foundation, the idea arose to turn to the world center of Christianity, the Vatican, for help and blessings in conducting charity concerts of spiritual and sacred music in the basilicas of the Vatican. Our Christian Charitable Foundation “POKROV” has planned a fundraising event in the Vatican “WITH FAITH IN UKRAINE”!
With the blessing of the Bishop-emeritus Canon of the Papal Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore Bishop Ireney Bilyk and with the support of the Embassy, in the person of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Holy See and the Sovereign Order of Malta Andriy Yurash, the concert is being held together with the orchestra of the Kharkiv Theater of Opera and Ballet named after M.V. Lysenko, which is led by the outstanding modern conductor Dmytro Morozov, who is the only Ukrainian who had the honor of playing the organ in St. Peter’s Cathedral at the Sunday mass of Pope Francis.
Our Foundation has undertaken the honorable mission of organizing these concerts and charity events.
We really hope that this charity event will help us make a significant contribution to helping Kharkiv and Ukraine.
This will be our contribution to Victory!
With faith in God, with prayer, we ask everyone who cares, who is able to invest the warmth of his heart and believe that the Almighty created us only for righteous deeds, and help the people of Ukraine. We will gratefully accept any help that is so necessary for the people of the country who live under daily bombings and shelling. To those who descend into bomb shelters at night or hide in the basements of destroyed buildings.
In addition, today we are planning and conducting preparatory work for holding various actions in the EU countries to attract funds, which will be directed to the purchase of food, medicine and everything necessary for the victims, to eliminate the destruction of Ukrainian cities and towns. We have prepared a number of programs, which include the organization of food production for people in unfavorable conditions for survival, a program for the production of energy-saving systems, so necessary in the conditions of electricity shortages and fan blackouts, a program for providing prostheses to all those who suffered as a result of the Russian aggression, and a number of other programs that will help the residents of Ukraine in this difficult time. Of course, the Foundation cannot develop and provide the needy with everything necessary without the active participation of volunteers, patrons, benefactors, and caring people.
Therefore, we appeal to all those who care about Ukraine and ask for help.
We keep thousands of photographs that will become a chronicle of our actions and lives, as an example for future generations of helping one’s neighbor, and caring of the human soul, and a reminder to those who believe that trouble will not knock on their door. Moreover, even any help, in any form, is a manifestation of the soul and humanity
With faith in God to Victory!
President of the “Pokrov” CCF, volunteers of the fund and like-minded people.
